Why am I getting failed authentication errors with Juniper Netscreen?

Symptom

Commands like config init failed on invalid authentication.

Problem

The Juniper Netscreen is running software revision 6.0 or higher. As of RMOS version 3.5, only 5.2 and 5.3 of Netscreen OS is supported.

Resolution

This device is currently unsupported when running 6.0 or higher. You can still use the appliance in native mode to access the Netscreen, but driver-specific functions will fail.
