How do I configure Windows 2003 Server to communicate with my appliance?

Windows' Emergency Management Services needs to be enabled on your server for it to be managed by the appliance on its serial port. To enable E.M.S., run the following command and restart your server:

  • bootcfg /ems on /port com1 /baud 9600 /id 1

The parameters of this command are:

  • /ems [on | off]
  • /port [hardware port name: ie com1]
  • /baud [baud rate, ie: 9600]
  • /id [os entry to boot from, usually 1]
